Malcolm Kenyatta is the grandson of a civil rights warrior, the son of a working-poor family in North Philadelphia and husband to Dr. Matt Kenyatta. Malcolm has been privileged to represent his neighbors in the Pennsylvania State Capitol as State Representative for the 181st District.
President Joe Biden nominated Representative Malcolm Kenyatta to lead the Presidential Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans.
As one of the youngest advisory commission chairs in American history, Malcolm led an intergenerational commission of business, academic, labor, and community leaders—also chosen by the President—which delivered a comprehensive set of recommendations to the President, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
